Aristocrat / Veri Shades

Veri shades are soft fabric panels hung vertically from a track, and they sit deliberately between a curtain and a vertical blind. Closed and turned, they read as one continuous drape across a glass wall. Turned open, light comes through the whole run at once. Drawn to one side, they stack into a soft column and the doorway is clear.

That combination is why they end up on the openings that defeat everything else: full-height glass in a duplex, a sliding balcony door that has to stay usable, a hotel lobby that wants the look of drapery without the maintenance. There are no chains and no exposed slats, and because each panel is separate, a damaged one is replaced on its own. They are a premium specification and priced accordingly.

Frequently asked questions

Will a blind on a sliding door stop us using the door?
Not if it is the right type. Anything that rolls down in one piece has to be raised every time you walk through, which nobody keeps doing. Vertical blinds and veri shades draw sideways instead, so the panels stack at one end and the doorway is clear while the rest of the glass stays covered. Tell us which side you walk through and we will set the stack on the other one.
What is the widest window a single blind can cover?
It depends on the mechanism, and every product page states its own limit in the specification table. Vertical blinds and veri shades go widest because the weight hangs from a track rather than winding onto a tube. A roller past about eight feet has to be made as two blinds sharing one bracket line — the calculator says so as soon as you enter a width that needs it, rather than surprising you on installation day.
Do I measure inside the window frame or outside it?
Both are valid, and they give different results. An inside (reveal) mount looks tidier and keeps the sill usable, but a little light always escapes at the edges. An outside mount overlaps the frame by two to three inches on each side and is the only way to get a genuinely dark bedroom. Tell us which you want and measure accordingly — our /measure guide walks through both with the exact points to record.
How long does it take from order to installation?
Three days for a standard blind, five for a motorised one, counted from the day the order is confirmed to the day it is fitted. Those are working targets for stock fabric in Dhaka; a colour we have to bring in, or a very large made-to-order size, can add to them, and we tell you that when you order rather than afterwards.
