Vertical Blinds

Vertical blinds hang as separate louvres from a top track, and they solve two problems no roller blind can. They cover very wide openings without a heavy roll of fabric overhead, and they let you walk through: draw them to one side and a sliding door or a balcony opening is completely clear.

Turning the wand rotates every louvre at once, so you set the angle rather than the height. That is a different kind of control — you can cut a low western sun without darkening the room, which is exactly what a Dhaka office needs at four in the afternoon. PVC louvres wipe clean and shrug off damp, which is why they end up in kitchens and clinics; fabric louvres are softer and quieter in a living room. Both can be motorised, and a broken louvre is replaced individually rather than remaking the blind.

Frequently asked questions

What is the widest window a single blind can cover?
It depends on the mechanism, and every product page states its own limit in the specification table. Vertical blinds and veri shades go widest because the weight hangs from a track rather than winding onto a tube. A roller past about eight feet has to be made as two blinds sharing one bracket line — the calculator says so as soon as you enter a width that needs it, rather than surprising you on installation day.
Do I measure inside the window frame or outside it?
Both are valid, and they give different results. An inside (reveal) mount looks tidier and keeps the sill usable, but a little light always escapes at the edges. An outside mount overlaps the frame by two to three inches on each side and is the only way to get a genuinely dark bedroom. Tell us which you want and measure accordingly — our /measure guide walks through both with the exact points to record.
Which blinds survive Dhaka humidity and monsoon splash?
Anything that does not mind getting damp: PVC and aluminium slats, PVC vertical louvres, and polyester roller fabrics all wipe clean and do not swell. Natural wood is the one to keep away from a window that takes rain, because repeated wetting warps the slats — faux wood gives the same look without that risk. For a bathroom or an open balcony, PVC or aluminium is the safe answer.
How long does it take from order to installation?
Three days for a standard blind, five for a motorised one, counted from the day the order is confirmed to the day it is fitted. Those are working targets for stock fabric in Dhaka; a colour we have to bring in, or a very large made-to-order size, can add to them, and we tell you that when you order rather than afterwards.
