  • The design is centred on your finished width, not cut wherever the roll ends.
  • Fold lines are placed to fall where they least interrupt the pattern.
  • Flat when lowered, so the full design is visible in the evening.

Patterned Roman Blind

A patterned roman blind has two lives. Lowered, the panel is flat and the design reads whole, the way it does on the roll. Raised, the folds cut across it and the pattern becomes a series of horizontal bands — which is why large-scale designs need placing carefully.

We set the pattern so the fold lines fall where they do least damage to it, and centre the design on the finished width rather than cutting wherever the cloth runs out.

Light Filtering: Softens daylight into an even glow. Shapes are visible through it, detail is not.

Care and cleaning

Vacuum gently along the folds; a stiff brush will lift the pile on a printed or woven pattern. Spot-clean, never soak.

Frequently asked questions

How much space does a roman blind need at the top?
More than a roller, because the folds stack rather than wind onto a tube. On a tall window the stack can be a hand-span deep when the blind is fully raised, and that stack sits over the top of the glass unless the blind is mounted above the opening. If the reveal is shallow, mount it outside the frame or choose a honeycomb blind, which folds much flatter.
Will the fabric fade in direct Dhaka sun?
Every fabric fades eventually under direct sun; the question is how fast and how evenly. Solution-dyed polyester and sunscreen mesh hold colour far better than printed cotton-look fabrics, and mid tones show fading less than deep navy or black. A west or south-west window is the harshest position in a Dhaka flat, so if that is where the blind goes, choose a lighter mid tone and expect the visible side to soften slightly over several years rather than patch unevenly.
Do I measure inside the window frame or outside it?
Both are valid, and they give different results. An inside (reveal) mount looks tidier and keeps the sill usable, but a little light always escapes at the edges. An outside mount overlaps the frame by two to three inches on each side and is the only way to get a genuinely dark bedroom. Tell us which you want and measure accordingly — our /measure guide walks through both with the exact points to record.
How long does it take from order to installation?
Three days for a standard blind, five for a motorised one, counted from the day the order is confirmed to the day it is fitted. Those are working targets for stock fabric in Dhaka; a colour we have to bring in, or a very large made-to-order size, can add to them, and we tell you that when you order rather than afterwards.
