Aluminium Venetian Blind

Thin aluminium slats, tilting through a full range and stacking to almost nothing at the top. The metal is the reason to choose it: it does not swell, warp or stain in a humid kitchen, it wipes clean with a damp cloth, and it holds a crisp line for years.

Tilt is the control that matters. Angle the slats upward and a hard afternoon sun becomes diffused ceiling light; angle them down and you keep the sky and lose the street.

Frequently asked questions

Do slatted blinds collect a lot of dust in Dhaka?
Yes, more than a flat roller blind does — a slatted blind has many more upward-facing surfaces. The fix is a routine, not a product: tilt the slats closed so they form a flat face, run a duster or a vacuum brush down them, then tilt the other way and repeat. Two minutes a window, once a month. Aluminium and PVC slats also take a damp cloth, which natural wood does not.
Which blinds survive Dhaka humidity and monsoon splash?
Anything that does not mind getting damp: PVC and aluminium slats, PVC vertical louvres, and polyester roller fabrics all wipe clean and do not swell. Natural wood is the one to keep away from a window that takes rain, because repeated wetting warps the slats — faux wood gives the same look without that risk. For a bathroom or an open balcony, PVC or aluminium is the safe answer.
Do I measure inside the window frame or outside it?
Both are valid, and they give different results. An inside (reveal) mount looks tidier and keeps the sill usable, but a little light always escapes at the edges. An outside mount overlaps the frame by two to three inches on each side and is the only way to get a genuinely dark bedroom. Are chain-operated blinds safe around small children?
A loose bead chain is a strangulation hazard, and it is entirely avoidable. Every chain blind we install comes with a cleat or tensioner that is screwed to the wall or frame so the loop is held taut and out of reach — please let us fix it rather than leaving the chain hanging. In a child's bedroom the safest answer is a motorised blind with no chain at all, and cots should never be placed against a window with a hanging cord.
